Did You Know? Your Hair Conditioner is also Shaving Cream!

Now that we’re coming out of our winter hibernation habits and wardrobes, we prepare to close in on summer fun in the sun. This also means that we bring out the razors and prep our skin to bare our assets!
As part of our summer skin-care routine, we know shaving cream can be expensive. It’s also just another product you have to worry about picking up at Target. Sure, you may have already have found your favorite shaving cream, but listen up: Your conditioner works just as well- if not better! (This can save you money overall.)
Conditioners are made of some quality ingredients that soften the hair and skin. This gives it a great advantage for shaving because not only is conditioner ultra moisturizing for your hair but also nourishing for your skin. Two-in-one kind of product! (Plus, less clutter in your shower).
Most conditioners usually run clear, too, so you can see where you are shaving and if you missed any spots. Plus, the slick texture of conditioner helps the razor glide gently across the skin.
As if that’s not enough, I came across some information from cosmetic chemist, Ginger King, who states “Conditioner is positively charged, making it attracted to hair (which is negatively charged), and thus able to coat the strands—whether it’s on your head or your legs.” [Source: WomensHealthMag] Scientific back up for the win! Conditioner naturally preps your skin and hair for a smooth, close razor shave.
I started using this hack just last year and really don’t have a desire to go back to shaving cream. I’ve experienced a significant decrease in red bumps, nicks, and ingrown hairs. I definitely give it my stamp of approval.
I’m sure the men could find this information helpful too- It doesn’t hurt to share!
